A good challenge

I bought this book for my third grader just to add to her school curriculum. The problems are definitely challenging. For her grade level, a parent definitely needs to help out. Apart from that, I think it is a wonderful book to have for kids who love their math. The book is divided into chapters with around 20 questions in each chapter and the answers are provided at the end of the book. I wish the answers came with a little bit more explanation as to how to logically arrive at the conclusion. Overall a very good buy, definitely recommend it.

Doesn't Explain Answers Well

While some of the lessons are easy to understand, I came across a question which actually made the problem into a completely different problem in the answer key. So, I tried to figure out how they came up with the answer to this new problem, and there is no rhyme or reason as far as their explanation. It is extremely unclear. I was able to help my daughter learn some good strategies using this book, however, so it wasn't a total loss. I will update this rating if it gets better or (hopefully not) worse!
