I love the parts I wrote!

If I weren't one of the editors, I'd be totally unbiased in saying that this is the most insightful book ever written about the field of Linguistics. As things stand, I can only say that I can think of nothing that compares to this book.
If you haven't bought a copy, chances are you aren't a linguist.

There's a typo in the book title: this is a Quintessential Guide to Linguistics. Why? Buy the book and you'll see. If you're not a linguist, you'll find out what you've been missing. If you are, you'll find out where you've missed.
