Heidi Ashworth, author of Miss Delacourt Speaks Her Mind and the award-winning Miss Delacourt Has Her Day, is a busy wife and mother who's grateful for a bit of peace and quiet in which to write. An unapologetic anglophile, she is determined to return to England to see the home of Jane Austen, a landmark she missed during her first trip across the pond, though she knows Lord Byron's house to be a suitable substitute. She's smitten with books, chocolate, and roses, not necessarily in that order, and is never averse to a round of Guitar Hero.

Lord Haversham: Amusing Regency Romance

Having read Heidi Ashworth's previous Delacourt books, I have to say this is some of her best writing yet. I loved "Lord Haversham Takes Command" and read it within two days.
The story is based on the romance of Harry ("Bertie") Haversham and Mira Crenshaw. (If you have read previous works by Ashworth, it is fun to see these characters are the children of the couples married in "Miss Delacourt Speaks Her Mind" and "Miss Delacourt Has Her Day.") Harry is working undercover for the Queen and has put on a fake persona of a fopp (now going by the name of Bertie), much to the surprise of Mira and her family who have known him since childhood. Mira has loved Harry since her youth, but is confused by this change. And her parents question whether or not to allow Mira and Harry to Court.
One of my favorite parts of the book include Harry's mother's antics--her "understated" soiree made me laugh out loud. Ashworth's creativity here shines.
This is a fun, clean (although there are a few good kissing scenes) regency romance. I look forward to more of Ashworth's books in the future. She is a reliable favorite author!

SO WONDERFULLY GOOD!

Start with all that is proper and romantic,
Add an air of royalty,
Throw in a love triangle, espionage, and duty to queen and country,
And you have this wonderful, amazing tale!
Miranda has come of age and is ready to make her formal debut into society. She is especially excited since "her Harry" has come back.
But when Harry shows up in lace and wants to be called Bertie, Miranda's parents wonder if it would be better for her to marry George.
George has always felt that Miranda belonged to him, but does he love her or just the title she will give him?
Can Harry keep everyone safe while acting the fool, yet still try to keep the love of Miranda?
Follow Miranda as she has her coming out, but keep your eye on Harry and George, for you never know what might happen as "Lord Haversham takes command."
Oh and wait until you meet Harry's mother...
SO WONDERFULLY GOOD!
If you love Regency Romance from Sarah Eden and Julianne Donaldson you will LOVE this new book by Heidi Ashworth!

Lord Haversham Takes Command...and Does It Well!

Lord Haversham Takes Command is the fourth book in the Miss Delacourt Adventure series and I sure hope it's not the last! Lord Haversham Takes Command is centered around Miranda, Mira, and Harry. The book starts out with a reconciliation that goes the way that neither of them has planned and as the story moves on you see them both come to terms with not only what this reconciliation means for them in the present but for their future as well. Included in the story are Mira's parents and some other characters from the previous three novels. While I have never read them (I do plan on going back and reading them and have already purchased the first book) I was able to still enjoy this book without feeling like I was all alone out in left field. That being said I could tell there were till some winks and nods to those that have read the previous books.
This was a great book that I hated to finish and I can't wait for the next one!
