I freely admit it. I was a complete loser with women in high school. And college. And for all of my 20's. I was a decent looking guy, ran my own business, but couldn't for the life of me attract women. Even if I got a first date on occasion, I never, ever got a second date. I got lots of safe hugs, but I simply could not get any results with women and it drove me crazy. One day several years ago, I was at a business event, listening to short, fat, dumpy, 50 some-odd year old guy give a talk about advertising, and it was fascinating. But what was even more fascinating was the reaction of all the women in the audience to this man who, quite frankly, looked like a basset hound. They all rushed the stage, vying for his attention, and I watched him take 3 phone numbers of the hottest, smartest, most desirable women there. What did this fluffy hound of a human being have that I didn't? So, I cornered him and convinced him to have dinner with me that night. After some prodding, he finally shared his secrets, secrets he'd been wanting to reveal for a long time. What he told me was amazing. He'd spent years in advertising, convincing people how to buy stuff, when one day a light went off in his head--he could use what he learned in advertising to attract women, and it worked like a charm. In fact, it worked too well because he met too many women too fast who wanted to "get with him," that he ran into a whole host of other problems. Informative and enjoyable

I would honestly say this is my favorite book by John Alanis. Although Don Juan is a fictional character, a lot can be learned from him on how to be a Master Pick Up Artist, an Alpha Male and how to be just plain badass. The thirteen Action Items are right on and if you want to learn what not to do, the dangerous pitfalls and how to avoid them are written for you. I enjoyed this book so much, I am going to read it again to reinforce my memory and to see if there is anything I missed the first time I read it. Just a friendly hint: If you don't like bait and switch advertising, don't click on any of th links interdispersed throughout the book.

I heard of John Alanis years ago and was skeptical of his programs but after reading his books on Amazon he nail's it he teaches you how to incorporate attractive qualities into yourself without having to become a Pua clown and you naturally attract women I getting women almost throwing themselves at me now and I'm a 300 pound guy! so this stuff is legit my only complaint is that I wish all of John's title came in paperback I would collect them all and study them like college course's

This book was limited by the biases, narratives and ideals of our Western, Hollywood-steeped culture. I bought it in hopes that I could learn something that would help me induce my wife of over 40 years to view me as a more compelling mate. Though it made some good points, overall the book seemed shallow and immature, and it did not take advantage of modern research on what women actually like. Maybe it would be more appealing to younger people who still identify with the dominant cultural story line about men.

About the Author
Adriana Bellini is an American author, born and raised in a small New Jersey town just outside of Philadelphia.  After completing her degree in Psychology at the Pennsylvania State University this year, Adriana plans to continue her studies with a focus on Child Psychology at the graduate level. As a survivor of child abuse, she is passionate about helping abused children heal and overcome the pain they've suffered and is committed to aiding them in becoming well-adjusted, happy adults.

Adriana resides in Edgewater Park, NJ with her husband, a USAF Staff Sergeant, and their three cats. Anelisse: A True Story of Child Abuse is her first novel.

I am better for having read this

As a young girl, Anelisse and her twin sister Maddie were ecstatic that their mother has found a new husband. The girls are excited to have a father, who appears loving and attentive. As time goes by, they see a new, ugly side of their stepfather. He begins to inflict terrible abuse on their mother, and eventually on the children themselves. A younger brother is born, but the situation gets worse and worse, until finally Anelisse must do what she can to make sure she survives.

It is always difficult to say you like or enjoy a book that details severe child abuse. How can someone like that? The subject matter is so heart breaking and sad. Yet I am so glad that these types of books continue to be written, and I have great respect for the authors to are so adept at sharing these stories. This book is stark, and raw. The story is, at times, quite difficult to read, but the writing is beautifully executed.

The book is based on the real experiences of the author, so it is a delicate blend of nonfiction and fiction. The reality truly comes through in the writing; it is clear that people really do suffer through these terrible situations. But the focus here is on survival, and that gives the readers and other survivors hope. I think it is so important that these stories continue to be told, so that other victims know they are not alone, and that they too can have a good life.

It is never fun to read about the pain of others. But I am better for having read this well written book.

Authentic Autobiographical Novel

I found this a very down to earth read that because of the content was at times hard to digest. I ran the gamut of emotions, laughter, tears, sympathy, pity and remorse. Sad that children have no say in the cards they are dealt. This amazing novel of a young woman who survived and has gone on to share her story as a way to help others gives me admiration for the author. A very tough subject that was handled very well indeed. I look forward to the next novel from Adrianna Bellini.

Fantastic Book!!!

This has been the best book I have read in years. It kept me wanting to read to very last page. This book has it all pain, love, and truth! I cannot wait for a part 2 and a movie. This is a reader that you need to follow she listens to her readers and give them what they want TWO THUMBS UP!!!

I knew something was wrong, but I didn't know what.

I have often confronted the spirit of this teaching called "Emergent Church", and I knew that something was wrong with it; but I didn't know what it was called, nor how to define nor address it. Years of research have gone into this attempt to define and address the movement (which, as is common to false teachings, does everything it can to resist being defined and addressed.) I much appreciate this valiant defense of the faith, against the most hip and trendy heresies of the day.

Great book on this counterfeit "Christian" theology\doctrine. The person who wrote this also has a YouTube video about the Emerging\Emergent Church and its leaders, who are some of the biggest proponents of this anti-God movement. The title of the book is taken from gen. 3:1, where Satan is talking to Eve.

This demonic teaching is basically humanistic; in essence saying "We don't need God. We can get to heaven our own way." Sound familiar? Read Gen. 11:4.

This book is very well written, an excellent read and informative. It is filled with information that has been thoroughly researched. Mr. Nesch has interviewed most of the people that he wrote about (some have declined), so it is not only his viewpoint or opinions--it contains their own words.
It is also easy to understand are read. Mr. Nesch gets his point across and backs up his views with Scripture. Since he is so committed to the study of aberrant doctrines, he also believes in using what he considers to be the "pure" Word of God;" that is the King James Bible.

Jordan Ancel is a former actor who’s had the privilege of being mentored by Mike Nichols and the late-great Paul Sills. He was a founding member of the award-winning Off-Broadway theater company, The Greenwich House Theater Company, in The West Village of NYC, whose members included (the late) Academy Award-Winning Kim Hunter. He has interviewed many of them for this book to provide actors at any level valuable and useful advice and information so they may become more successful in their pursuit of their dreams. As a producer, actors ask me for advice all the time, and until now, I haven't been able to recommend a great resource to them. That changes with this book. He also offers tons of practical advice and career guidance, with an emphasis on how you can take responsibility for your career and be the captain of your destiny. Whether you are a newcomer to professional acting, or have been doing it for years, this book has valuable, up-to-date information you can put to use immediately.

How to REALLY achieve an acting career.

Jordan Ancel's book is an incredibly valuable resource filled with genuine and genuinely entertaining anecdotes from a broad, knowledgeable base of respected industry professionals who pull no punches about the realities of an acting career.

His detailed interviews - and own humility laced experiences as a former working actor - provide decades worth of practical career advice.

For all of the actors out there who are starting out, been around for a bit, or parents who are curious about getting their kids in showbiz, I can't recommend his book enough.

A Book That Hits The Mark

If "To be? Or not to be?" is the question, then this book is the answer.
Every once in a while a book comes along that is not only an entertaining read, but an informative one. The kind of book that makes you feel smarter for having read it. The kind of book that makes you say, "Wow. That was money well spent."
This is that book.
I highly recommend "Behind the Lines" to both seasoned professionals looking to branch out, and newbies looking to break into the highly competitive field of acting. As a writer with a background in acting, I know, first-hand, how overwhelming the business can be. There is so much to learn. Mr. Ancel's book will prove to be an invaluable tool for anyone attempting to navigate the tricky business of professional acting without losing their minds. From information on agents and managers, to interviews with prominent industry insiders and working actors, and honest (often amusing) personal anecdotes about his own experiences in both NYC and LA, this book covers it all. It's fun, insightful, and easy to read (as long as you know the Alphabet). So, if you're an actor... or you just play one on TV... or you know someone who wants to be an actor... or just play one on TV... treat yourself to a great read that could change the path of your career immeasurably. This book could be exactly what it takes to make it as an actor!
