Dr. Lori Attanasio Woodring received her BS from Cornell University and her PhD from Fordham University. She is a licensed psychologist in New York and Connecticut and served as an Adjunct Professor in the Graduate School at Fordham University. Dr. Woodring has worked with children and parents in school, hospital, and private settings. Her research with children and families has been presented at national and international conferences. A must for families on the move with young children!

Having recently made the move from the London to the New York with a 10 year old, I can truly say that this book was a wonderful way of talking my daughter through the move. It helped her to put words to all the thoughts and feelings that were going through her mind and it led to some pretty great conversations. I love how the workbook helps children to say goodbye in such a positive way, and as well, opens up new ideas of all the great things that moving will make possible. The combination of games, drawing and writing makes it a fun and varied experience. It was great fun to sit with my daughter as she worked her way through the book as it opened up opportunities for me to also share my thoughts on movingl. This is a must for parents who want to positively support their children through the transition of moving.

A wonderful resource for expat children

We have moved with our children from Australia to HongKong, back to Australia and then NY and now back in Australia...despite the excitement of the move it is also filled with lots of questions and anxiety. New homes, new friends, new schools are a lot for children to cope with..."My Very Exciting Sorta Scary Big Move' activity book is fun and filled with great tips and coping strategies to make the move easier and is also a great way to keep some wonderful memories. It has been an invaluable resource and great help to my three children. Sophie, Sydney, Australia.

Great Resource for Nomadic Families

This is spot on for my 4-6-8 year olds. Some fun mazes, emotional preparation at their level, places to draw, and more. It has been really nice to sit down with them individually and talk thing through. I Definitely recommend getting 1 per child in that age range. My older kids (11&12) thought it was a bit childish and my 2 year old wouldn't have grasped any of it;) My only regret is that it is definitely focused towards non-homeschoolers (with a fair amount of focus on missing the old school and looking forward to the new school, etc) but no biggie:)
