Excellent author, excellent book.

Have not read the book yet, but have talked to the author who demonstrated some of the spiritual cognitive behavioral therapy in his book on me, and it worked very well I now look forward to buying his book as it deals with so many issue.

W. David Moon is a money manager by trade. In his real life he and his wife of 28 years raise 13-year-old twins on a farm in Knoxville, Tennessee, where his weekends regularly resemble old episodes of “Green Acres.” During the week, he is the president of Moon Capital Management, an investment research and management firm. After decades of financial writing, Thoughts Are Things is his first non-business related work. Since 1998, David has written “MarketView,” a weekly business commentary for newspaper publisher Scripps. His research and editorial writing have been featured in the Wall Street Journal, Barron’s and Corporate Board Member magazine and he has been a regular contributor to CNBC's “After the Bell.” David serves on the investment committee for the City of Knoxville, the Board of Visitors of the University of Tennessee Graduate School of Medicine and is the former Chairman of the Knoxville Zoo board of directors. David earned bachelor’s and MBA degrees (both cum laude) from the University of Tennessee, where he was named a member of the Academic All-Southeastern Conference football team his senior year.

My kids are already asking for the yellow book!

I am a third grade teacher and I am reading this book every morning to my kids. We have only been reading it for a week. If I forget they will remind me. "You forgot to read from the yellow book!" The entries are short, to the point and relevant to everyone. The language is kid friendly but not condescending. Perfect for my classroom.

an elementary text book for the home study of ethics, morality and civility.

I gave this to my brother-in-law for Christmas- and my sister loves it. He reads the daily entry to my niece and nephew as a part of their devotional family time. It's a very down to earth book that provides a straight forward and easy way to introduce serious issues and address weighty questions in terms that children of all ages can grasp. It's not merely a book of affirmations, though there is plenty of affirming wisdom between the covers, this seems more akin to an elementary text book for the home study of ethics, morality and civility. There's also a lot of good, everyday advice for creative and successful living - common sense stuff that's refreshing to see in print.

In addition to the thoughts for each day, the book notes holidays and special birthdays including little known but important people who've had a major impact on life - like Percy Spencer, the inventor of Microwave popcorn. Seriously - how many times a year are you grateful for that guy's genius (and I hadn't even heard of him).

It's pleasantly light hearted, often fun but never shy about tackling difficult subjects either. In some ways it's a good handbook for raising kids - especially when you start having to answer questions about bad things that happen, dealing with pain, making mistakes and dealing with the aftermath when those mistakes hurt other people.

Small but worth it

At 36 pages and $9 the book doesn't seem very good value. But in fact it's wonderful. The articles are more like short stories that are worth reading and re-reading.

I did the Landmark Forum several years ago and small reminders like the Landmark Insights and Distinctions pieces are a great way of reconnecting with the breakthroughs I had during the Forum.

It's also an accessible book for those who have never done the Forum and are interested to see the thinking at work.

The audiobook Insights and Distinctions Conversations that Matter: Insights & Distinctions-Landmark Essays Volume 1 is also a great little package.

Waste of money - book is really just a pamphlet

I bought both book 1 & 2. I attended the Landmark Forum and the Advanced Seminar. I was excited to see these books come out thinking that I would get some reading to help me reconnect with some of the insights that I got out of the courses. Unfortunately I was very disappointed. These books are very thin - both on content and in pages. For $9 a book I was expecting more than just a pamphlet.

If the price was $5 then it might be worth it or a $2 kindle book. Otherwise just keep moving and find another book.

I borrowed this book from a friend. Although it's a good intro/review of the Landmark Forum, it's sort of like reading a pamphlet on skydiving and then having the confidence to go out and trying it. Some things just can't be gotten from a book.

Worth the price

There is little literature regarding EB-5s and its not easy to find reliable information on the subject. This book gives a great overview of the EB-5 program as a vehicle to obtain visas, finance construction and invest in real estate. I recommend it for anyone looking to invest in this program or looking for alternative sources of finance for real estate.

I practice immigration law in Miami, Florida and our firm files many EB-5 petitions. As with all information on U.S. Immigration Law, one must know where to find sound legal advice. The horizon is full of bad information, which only confuses people even more. Rodrigo's book focuses on the nuts and bolts of the EB-5 Program, and is quite informative. I would recommend reading this book if you are an immigration attorney, just starting to practice and needs an overview of the EB-5 process, as well as to any potential EB-5 investors seeking truth and knowledge in the field.

Very informative and well written guide to EB5

As an immigrant in the U.S. who believes in the power of entrepreneurship and economic opportunity, I am a big fan of EB5, and I often recommend it to prospective migrant families who have the means to invest in the U.S. job creation and prosperity. However, EB5 is not always easy to explain or to grasp as a concept. So, I found this book to be a very useful guide, and its beauty is it puts all the pieces together in a "one stop shop" fashion, saving the reader the daunting task of doing all the research on their own. I also thought it was quite useful for developers planning to start their own EB5 projects. It pretty much does the research homework for them. In that regard, I thought the authors' effort was quite selfless and commendable.

I bought this book from Lee at a court reporting convention in 2013. The English language is constantly evolving and I find myself reaching for this book at least two to three times a week as I edit my transcripts. You won't regret buying this up-to-date reference book, even if you already have that other one that's been popular for so many years. ;-)

A Beautiful Dream

This was my husband's high school basketball coach. To this day they are in touch with each other by phone. My husband was elated and read over half of the book Christmas Day. I think it was his most favorite gift of the day. Thank you for your promptness in getting the book delivered.

A Wonderful Human Interest Story

It was an excellent human interest story about a very nice, gentle, kind man who was a great athlete. He changed peoples lives for the better. I had the pleasure of having Mr. Pavela as a teacher during my freshman and sophmore years at St. Mary HS in Michigan City, IN. The fact that I knew him made the book appealing to me. Really enjoyed reading about my basketball coach at St Mary's high school.

Many times over the year's I, still think of coach Pavela .And thank him for guiding me in the right direction .
