I was struck by Brother Gator’s acute intelligence, genuine sincerity and soulful smile. It was clear he was my kind of brother – a brother shaped by the inimitable music of Curtis Mayfield, the spiritual struggle of Malcolm X and the visionary leadership of Larry Hoover. Fortitude and forgiveness, bravery and maturation, courage and conversion are shot through the life and times of Brother Gator. His powerful and poignant book is a testament to his strength and determination to be a force for good in the face of overwhelming odds. It charts his fascinating trek from the Racine Courts housing project to the racist courts of law in Chicago to his monumental anti-racist political activism in the historic campaigns of Jerry Butler, Jesse Jackson and Barack Obama. As one of the few ever pardoned by an Illinois Governor, Brother Gator has been an exemplary citizen in his adult life – with his loving and high-achieving wife and children, the great respect of fellow citizens for him and the high demands for his wisdom and skill from local, national and global leaders. Thank you for writing such a instrumental book that is much needed in our Society today. It is very motivational to read of you life; your up-bringing and struggles are those that many face day to day and see no way out. If they would take a moment to read this book, as well as others, maybe some would see the Light as well. Your Love, Life and Loyalty for that in which you stand firmly on gives knowledge,wisdom and understanding to many. Thank you again Sir Gator.

Excellent book demonstrating the evolution of a Great Mind and Great Asset to the American Society!

The Honorable Wallace "Gator" Bradley does what he does best, expresses the truth by himself being great example of the truth! In this book he gives in plain language the proof that people can and do change. Murder to Excellence is exactly what it's name indicates. Brother Gator is an example to the youth who are searching for a way out of that murderous, self-destructive lifestyle to becoming something great, something of excellence.
I recommend this book to any and all who have had a negative past and have changed, and also to anyone who is still trapped in a negative way of life, as this book has the motivational power to aid and assist anyone in redirecting their life, from Murder to Excellence!

We had a sincere discussion on accountability. Your history is the past, but the more we learn from the past will help us go farther in the future. Peace and Accountability is the key to life as we live it today. Life is very precious , yet sometimes cheap on the street. You have demonstrated strength and mentoring among some of our lost youth. I enjoyed reading your book it was tough, historic and down to the bone! You have provided hope in restoring the future of our youth.
