About the Author
Mike Fry had only one main goal in life, and he achieved it every day of his life: He wanted to make people laugh. He attended Ringling Brothers Clown College, where he had the honor of being trained by three of the world's top four Master Clowns. He left the circus, and spent the next 8 wonderful years portraying Happy The Hobo on the wildly popular TV show, Happy's Place, (syndicated in 207 cities) from 1982-1990. After leaving the show, Mike turned his attention to another passion: inventing. He had his Big Light Bulb Moment when he asked himself: Why do fortune cookies have to be beige, bland and boring? That was the beginning of FancyFortuneCookies.com, which is still going strong in Indianapolis, IN. True to form, Mike had this to say about his company: "I don't bake cookies—I sell smiles—I think of myself as being in the joy business." A lifelong learner and student of positive thinking, Mike began to share his hard earned wisdom and happiness secrets with others, giving workshops and doing speaking engagements all across Asia as well as across the US. “In 1992 I lost every penny I had. How? In a word: embezzlement. I had to beg, borrow and beg again to keep my fortune cookie business alive, but it turned out to be one of the best experiences of my life. Why? Because I made it so. I knew Mike Fry and watched him embody this "joy business" philosophy, and somehow that kind of joy persists beyond this mortal coil. I am so glad this book will continue his legacy, something I was privileged to witness and share, and still lives on his business and family. A very inspiring story and life. I only wish it came with free Fancy Fortune Cookies, but now I am getting greedy . . . Enjoy.

The literary equivalent of cotton candy - loved by many, but too sweet for some

Mike Fry's big lovable personality really comes through in this, which makes it worth reading. It's a good chance to get to know the guy if you never go the chance to do so in person. He's a fascinating character. His writing will inspire you to maybe get back to that big project you've been putting off, or interview for that job you've always wanted. That's the kind of thing this book is great for if that's what you're seeking.
However, for people who are really struggling with something debilitating like clinical depression where energy and ambition are in very short supply, it may be a bit like getting advice from the human equivalent of a bouncing, super cheerful jack russel terrier - a bit overwhelming and not something you really want to hear from until you get some of your more basic needs met. This book is pages and pages of sunshine, rainbows, lollipops and literal huge smiley faces. If "have you just tried not being depressed?" gets your hackles up, you'll want to save this for a day where you're in a better place mentally.
Also, the formatting in the e-book is a bit crazy, so I'd recommend a physical copy
