AMAZING SERIES!!

I am a ridiculously insatiable consumer when it comes to books. It is not uncommon for me to be reading several books a week. I never go back and write reviews on any of the books I have read and it isn't because I don't care - it's just the sheer volume at which I consume the stories makes it difficult to stop long enough! I absolutely HAD to write a review on this series the MOMENT i finished reading all 3 books currently out.
It was my first introduction to A.M. Madden and I am forever hooked on her writing style. Incredibly in depth with the stories and characters. I absolutely LOVE when a book can make me feel like I have known the characters personally. Her humor is fresh and witty and often had me laughing out loud. I loved the dynamics that made up each character to the point where they were absolutely tangible. There was no way in my mind while I was reading that these characters didn't actually exist in a group and I felt myself existing among them as the story unraveled.
I laughed, cried, smiled and cheered my way through these books and kept dreading the moment that I would reach the end. I simply couldn't get enough of Jack and Leila, but I also found myself just as interested in the rest of the players (THIS NEVER HAPPENS!). This series is incredible and I hope that with the release of Trey's story next year (FOREVER AWAY!) we find that Jack and Lei are not a completed story just yet.
I am certainly a fan of A. M. Madden and that says a lot given my insatiable reading habits and her ability to completely devour my attention with this series. Incredible!

Back-Up and get this book--right now...

I wasn't sure what to expect, but WOW did A.M. deliver WAYYY more than what I was expecting.
Jack Lair is the hot rocker in the band Devil's Lair. Now before you think, not another rocker book, I can say this. It isn't your typical rocker book. NOT AT ALL. Sure, they are all hot and can have whoever they want. But that's SO not the point of this story. It's a page turning, refreshing read that will have you chuckling, wanting to throw your kindle, aching for more, and crying along with the characters. Her plot and character development are fantastic. There are some small errors that are being worked on, but they don't stop you from wanting to devour this story just like you want to devour Jack Lair.
Leila is a small town singer, always wishing she could make it big. When she goes on an audition for Devil's Lair, she's starstruck and shocked, especially when she gets the job. What she also can't deny is her attraction to Jack.
This book is FULL of angst, unbelievable tension, and moments where you're like....noooooo, please no!!! I kept 'turning' the pages of my kindle, hoping that it would be the NEXT page that she would give me some relief. I cannot WAIT for their story to continue. I read a lot of books, and the storyline of this series has me captured. If I could make her give me the other one right now, I would. Go read it.

A Solid Debut!

A solid debut by AM Madden!
I've read both the previous version and the reworked and edited version of this book! And I must say it's an infinitely better read the second time around. The story-telling is tight, the prose worked better and it's definitely an easier read.
I loved AM Madden's characterizations of Leila Marino and Jack Lair. The story flowed smoothly. Jack is actually very sweet and while he's a little bit of a manwhore, he still comes off as charming and endearing. Plus, he is totally into Leila.
I also loved the secondary characters especially Evan and his connection with Leila. That was actually one of my favorite elements in the book.
Just a little heads-up. This is a continuing series. I wouldn't say that this ended on a cliffhanger but there are some unresolved issues surrounding Jack and a previous relationship which is definitely going to affect his relationship with Leila. I'm looking forward to reading the installment in this series, Front and Center.
