Devoured this book in one sitting

Simply from a peruse of the cover of this book, I put down my current read of the Harvard Classics when this book arrived as I was on p. 10,000 something of pp 11,271 and didn't want to wait to read Alena Dillon's short story assembly when it arrived last weekend. Oh my, it is a hysterically funny culmination of real life (you can't make this stuff up) experiences of a young woman. I devoured this book in one sitting Sun. Kept running into the family room to tell my daughter who was in from college on fall break... "listen to this..." She thought I was crying in the next room I was laughing so hard. Alena's reminiscent stories were an easy, can't put it down, I needed a good laugh-so-hard-I-cry read. My personal favorites, "What is the deal with knee hair" and "Eat before the clock strikes fast!". Hope she has more to come.

i didnt realize you agreed...

A funny set of essays and ramblings that reflect the haphazard thoughts, fears, hopes and occasional paranoid delusions that we all think make us "UNIQUE".
Whether you read this as a "Dad" wondering what is going on in your little lady's head or a husband trying to make sense of how all your good ideas somehow seem to crater with the lovely bride.....you will get more than a few chuckles.
...and for the ladies I would (have to guess) that there are quite a few "been there done that" moments that will bring a smile (or tear) to the forefront.
Easy to read in chunks since its a series of essays or short "stories".
One caution...if you are from "The island" (as New Yorkers refer to this area) there are a few choice anecdotes for your consumption:)

What a wonderful, funny book! So many funny essays all combining to present a young woman's perspective on life! Absolutely hysterical short windows into everything from house cleaning, the need for soft ice cream with sprinkles, buying in bulk, being a 'gold card' member of Starbucks, to walking up on a (previously unknown) nude beach, and oh so many more. You laugh so loud at the witty perspectives you wonder if others will deem you 'nuts'
