Heidi Ashworth, author of the popular Miss Delacourt series, including the award-winning Miss Delacourt Has Her Day, is a busy wife and mother who's grateful for a bit of peace and quiet in which to write. An unapologetic anglophile, she is determined to return to England to see the home of Jane Austen, a landmark she missed during her first trip across the pond, though she knows Lord Byron's house to be a suitable substitute. She's smitten with books, chocolate, and roses, not necessarily in that order, and is never averse to a round of Guitar Hero.

Miss Delecourt's World

This holiday collection of three short stories is a fun insight into Miss Delacourt's world. Some of our favorite character's pop in. There's Great-aunt Regina, a young Ginny, a newly married Anthony, the always ditsy Lucinda, plus a new batch of engaging characters. I loved "A Rose for Christmas" the most, probably because it had a healthy dose of roses and Ginny in it.
One of the things I like about Ashworth's characters is that they are not cookie cutter people, not all Ginny clones. The heroine in the first story is remarkably timid, somewhat older girl. In "The Lord Who Sneered," the heroine is nosy, a bit pushy, and maybe even a teensy bit immature. And, of course, our Miss Ginny Delacourt is the outspoken chit with a heart of gold. Despite their diversity, they all draw me into their stories and have me applauding when their happily ever after comes. (Spoiler alert: romances have happy endings.)
It's not necessary to read Miss Delacourt Speaks Her Mind/ or Miss Delacourt Has Her Day in order to enjoy these stories, but I recommend them to anyone who loves a good clean romance with a healthy dose of humor.

A fun Regency Read!

This is the 3rd book that I've read by Heidi Ashworth. I absolutely loved this trio of stories. I think the Ghost in the Graveyard was my favorite but all 3 were equally intriguing in their own way. I enjoyed seeing some of my favorite characters making appearances and learning more about them in the years prior to when I actually "met" them. It's definitely not necessary to have read any of Heidi's other books, but let me tell you, I would highly recommend adding them to your reading list as well! :) I still have 2 of her other books to read and cannot wait to jump back in.

Further insight to past characters

I really enjoyed this compilation of short stories by Heidi Ashworth! I find it a gift how she can take her characters from her other stories and give you a little more of them. Especially when you've fallen in love with those characters and want more. If you've never read the other books you won't be lost but it doesn't hurt to put them on your wish list for later.
These three short stories were really fun and put you in the mood for the holidays. My favorite of the three was The Lord who sneered. It caught my attention, especially since the Lord has been living with chastisement from society all for trying to help his cousin. Inspite of what other people say about him Lady Sophia is willing to hear his story. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a fun, quick read to put them in the mood for the holiday season!
