The Ultimate "Leadership in a Nutshell" Book!!!

Leadership is often overlooked in the early periods, attributing success to money or power, and not the individual. Organization 3.0 provides a concise and detailed look at the evolution of leadership through the early ages, bringing us to our present day organizational structure, and helps the reader embrace the theories used in the "process of understanding the limits and validity of a specific action within the context of a system." (Foster) The text highlights the different types of leadership styles, theories on leadership, organizational effectiveness (past and present), group behavior, and team building. It also does a great job in explaining organizational systems used within an organization, to include open systems, open source, employee empowerment, matrix and flat systems.
As a concept, organizational systems sound abstract but the detail provided by Dr. Foster helps the reader understand the systems and how they can be applied to succeed. The truth is, we all live and thrive in organizational systems all the time--the family we are part of, the place of worship we attend, the city we live in, the place where we work and the world at large are just a few examples. No matter how minimal our role may seem to be, we are always part of a larger community serving a purpose and our contribution always affects the organizational system, positively or negatively depending on our actions.
