Barry Richard Donadio was a First Responder to the TWA Flight 800 crash on July 17th 1996. He had a long distinguished Military career. After the Military, he served for 10 years in the United States Government. In June 2013 he became the President of Public Security LLC, which is a Private Intelligence Agency that provides investigative and executive protection services to clients globally. He recently become and elected official of the Republican Central Committee in Queen Anne's County, Maryland. Mr. Donadio plans to write more controversial books in the near future: TEXAS ENRAGED! A standout account

A standout addition to the literature on TWA 800, standing-out because it does NOT take a particular point of view. A firsthand account without prejudice, simply describing a unique perch undescribed until now. Draw your own conclusions.
Anyone compelled to criticize the editing is unable to read the passion between the lines, has never been saved by a first responder, doesn’t have military or first responders in the family, or for that matter, has never watched an episode of Dragnet (“Just the facts, Ma’am...”).
For the rest of us, the compassion and decency come through loud and clear.

Not What I Expected

I applaud Donadio for being a first responder, but this book leaves a lot to be desired. Given the title reference to TWA 800, I expected him to be at the crash site pulling wreckage and crash victims from the waters. Nope. He was on shore twiddling his thumbs and going for donuts. No reflections on Mr. Donadio---He was doing as directed. But first responding? Not what I expected.

Don't waste your time or money on this one

The book was written by someone who was a first responder, and it is the most poorly written thing I’ve seen since I subbed and had students who were in the bottom of their class and working below grade level. It was obvious the writer self-published and had no one proof it first. It was full of misspellings and misplaced punctuation. And it wasn’t difficult punctuation. He put commas right in the middle of most of his sentences for no reason whatsoever. Sometimes he had a space both before and after the commas, in several places.
While the book (and title) purports to be a first-person account of what occurred directly after the plane went down, the first 7 chapters of the book never even mentioned it. They were just background on the writer’s work experience. The small part that actually describes what he saw could have been typewritten in 12 point font on one sheet of paper. Two thumbs down on this one. If you come across this book, don’t waste your money or your time
