Kerri Mixon is a 16th generation soapmaker and the owner of multiple soap-related businesses. Her articles on soapmaking have appeared in numerous trade publications. A seasoned instructor, she has taught soapmaking classes to students and live audiences across the United States. Master soapmaker Kerri Mixon's passion for soapmaking is obviously contagious; several graduates of her soapmaking classes now run their own successful soap, body care, and cosmetics businesses.

Overpriced - Will not add value to your own soapmaking courses

Not impressed with this book. It looks like it would compliment one of the author's classes, but it is almost worthless to a beginner soapmaker teacher. The teacher edition is identical to the student workbook - just in color with a couple pages of answers to some questions.
For the student workbook (which is duplicated in this book)... This book is very thin and contains little instruction. A chunk of the book are blank note pages. About 1/3 of the book lists vendors and a glossary. The bulk of the book with any content (about 1/2 the pages) focuses heavily on lye and looking at MSDS pages from suppliers. While lye safety is important, spending a full page out of 29 content pages just on safety goggles is a bit of a waste. The couple of pages that provide any instructions are very light with short steps and no explanation.
For this book as a teaching tool... This book gives no instruction for teaching the material. A teacher using this workbook will gain no teaching insight. It is literally just a repeat of the student workbook with 3 or so pages that have the answers filled in. It would probably not help in any class beyond the ones the author provides. As a teacher, you should be at the point of knowing this material and teaching without it, but it will also not add any value to most soapmaking courses. Don't waste your money.
I believe the author should only use this book herself in her class or by other teachers in her school. The price is outrageous.
