About the Author
David Denny grew up in the suburban beach communities of southern California. He studied theatre and literature at Golden West College and California State University, Long Beach. He moved north for a short time, earning an MFA in creative writing at the University of Oregon. Later, he received an MAT degree from Fuller Theological Seminary. He currently resides in the San Francisco Bay Area with his wife, a prominent choral conductor and music teacher. They are the proud parents of two talented children and the guardians of a persnickety cat named Molly Bloom. Denny is Professor of English at De Anza College and former editor of Bottomfish magazine. He is the recipient of a 2013 Artist Laureate award by the Arts Council of Silicon Valley, and for two years he served as inaugural Poet Laureate of Cupertino. His poems and short stories have appeared in numerous literary magazines and journals, including Atlanta Review, California Quarterly, Iodine Poetry Journal, Pearl, and The Sun, among others. His chapbook, Plebeian on the Front Porch, was published by Finishing Line Press in 2012. When not writing or teaching, he can often be found watching classic movies from the balcony of the Stanford Theatre.

Artistry on the page. Denny delivers!

Once you pick up David Denny's new book "fool in the attic", you won't be able to put it down. David takes you on special journeys that create emotion in your heart. One line will take you back to a happier time with your father, or make you laugh at everyday occurrences.
I especially love the poems that make me smile, like "belly poem" . And, the ones that put a catch in my throat lke "Catalina & Beyond". David has always been able to express the thoughts and imagination of men everywhere. What a joy to have no many of his works together under one cover. "Fool in the attic" is a delight. It takes you back to places you've forgotten and shares with you places you've only dreamed about.
My wife tells me all the time that I don't express emotion. Well, I dare you to pick up "fool in the attic" and not have emotions pouring out of you. Bravo Mr. Denny!, Good guys really do win

Quotidian pleasures...

David Denny writes perfect prose for the quotidian pleasures of life as it was, is, and should be. His words pull us away from the mindless pursuits of work, commuting, chores, and familial obligations, and take us to the core of what tugs at our hearts and captures our yearnings. Read "Bluescape," and try to resist lifting your arms to the sky...

By the dustiest cowboy
Denny delivers, in what I am calling the page turner of the year! Every poem is heartfelt, and as vivid as if you were there. He has a way of sharing moments that is unparalleled. Purchase this book. You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll feel, and it will be magnificent!
