About the Author
The Rev. Kevin M. Goodman is an Episcopal Priest, a fan of Kate Bush, and a lover of films and television. As a frequent guest of the Walt Disney World Resort, he finds particular joy riding monorails, walking around World Showcase Lagoon, and sipping a glass of wine on late afternoons at the California Grill. His ministry has pushed him onto the streets to serve with homeless youth and through the halls of injustice advocating for immigration reform and marriage equality. He has been a recorder of sacred story for the people of Renk Diocese, the Republic of South Sudan and a television producer capturing seekers celebrating the spirit of life. As a native New Orleanian, he is definitely a Saints fan, a lover of Gumbo, and a connoisseur of the spirits of the Crescent City. He seeks God in the cracks and crevices of popular culture and is always looking for a good margarita.

A Thought-Provoking Read

The Reverend Kevin M. Goodman has written an interesting and thought-provoking guide to the worlds of Walt Disney. Divided into fourteen chapters and looking at the spiritual sides of Disney's films and main attractions in his parks, he addresses such topics as "Hunger - How Do I Feed Myself and My Neighbor?" "Sin - Can I Be Loved in Spite of Myself?" and and "Judgment - Can I Change?" Each chapter begins with "Main Gate," followed by' "In the Queue," "From the Book," a reading from the Bible, "Ride the Attraction," which highlights an attraction and how the images of the ride comment on our religious beliefs, spiritual questions, and holy traditions, "For Reflection," ""The E-Ticket," with suggestions for your theological reflection, and "The Collect," a prayer that collects our thoughts based on our personal reflection. I am part of an adult discussion group at my church and we have selected this work to read and reflect upon as our next study.
